Pithoragarh. After 70 decades of independence, the areas adjacent to China and Nepal in Uttarakhand are going to shine. A plan has been prepared to connect electricity to Vyas, Darma and Johar valley of Pithoragarh as well as hundreds of villages of Chamoli and Uttarkashi. By connecting these areas with electricity, while tourism will increase, the security forces will also get a lot of relief. Be it Beas, Darma and Johar valleys in Pithoragarh or Neeti and Mana area of Chamoli or the part of Uttarkashi adjacent to China. Hundreds of villages are settled here.
According to the information, after the road was cut to these villages situated on the international border, work is now being done to provide necessary facilities. These areas present in the higher Himalayan regions are also important from the point of view of adventure and religious tourism. In such a situation, these areas situated on the China and Nepal border now have to be connected with electricity. In fact, the Center has already included these areas in Vibrant Village, after which the exercise to connect these areas with electricity has started. Pithoragarh DM Reena Joshi said that tenders have been issued. UPCL will start the work after the completion of the tender process.
Immense tourism potential here
There is immense potential for tourism in these border areas. Actually in Vyas valley where Mansarovar Yatra route is. Om Parvat, Adi Kailash and Parvati Lake are also present here. Whereas the world famous Panchachuli peaks are present in Darma valley. Talking about Johar Valley, this valley is famous for mountaineering in the whole world. Along with common tourists, adventure tourists also come to these areas every year. In such a situation, it is certain that after gathering the necessary facilities, their number will increase significantly.
This much money will be spent
6 thousand 12 lakh rupees have to be spent in providing electricity to Vyas valley of Pithoragarh whereas for Darma valley this cost is 2 thousand 65 lakh rupees. At the same time, it will cost Rs 4,584 lakh to connect Johar Valley with electricity, while the border areas of Chamoli and Uttarkashi will have to be connected at a cost of Rs 59-59 thousand lakh. The survey work for this has already been completed.
