In the wake of reports of a privilege motion against Renuka Chaudhary being considered in the Rajya Sabha amid the dog controversy, the Congress MP said she will address the issue if needed and give a strong response.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, PTI quoted Renuka as saying, “I will see when it will be brought… I will give a befitting reply…”
He said, “People are dying due to pollution, and no one is concerned about it. BLOs are committing suicide, their families are being destroyed, and they are not concerned about it. Labor laws are being imposed on us. Sanchar Sathi app is being imposed on us. But Renuka Chaudhary’s dog has upset everyone. What can I say now? I will continue to take care of animals.”

What caused the dog issue to erupt?
The Congress MP’s comments come after he brought a dog to Parliament on Monday, which he claimed was a stray dog, to which other MPs objected.
Chaudhary told that he had saved the puppy while going to Parliament. He witnessed the scooter-car collision and saw the puppy roaming near the road. To keep the dog safe, she took it in her car. The dog remained inside the vehicle and went away soon after the Congress MP was dropped off.
Describing the incident, Chaudhary told ANI, “Is there any law? I was on my way. A scooter collided with a car. This little puppy was wandering on the road. I thought it would get hit by the wheel. So I picked it up, kept it in the car, came to Parliament and sent it back. The car went away, and the dog also went away. So what is the point of this discussion?”
These developments have come to light during the winter session of Parliament, which began on December 1. The Center listed 10 new bills to be introduced and decided to hold the discussion on the 150th anniversary of India’s national song Vande Mataram.
The Congress MP later said, “The government doesn’t like animals. What’s the harm if a small, harmless animal comes in?”
She argued that the dog was not a threat and was simply accompanying her in the vehicle, adding, “It’s not aggressive.” His comments came after BJP MP Jagdambika Pal expressed concern over the dog’s presence and said, “Renuka Chaudhary brought a dog to Parliament. Action should be taken against her.”
