New Delhi: Actress Rohini Hattangadi has left a deep impression on Indian cinema with her work. She is the first Indian to win the BAFTA Award. He was given this award for his role in the film ‘Gandhi’. The 75 year old heroine worked in films of different languages. He won the National Award for the 1984 film ‘Party’. Rohini Hattangadi, while talking to ‘The Free Fresh Journal’, gave her personal reason for leaving the serial. She said, ‘When I was young, there were no gyms. Our work used to be exercise, but television demands you to work continuously. To work in a TV serial, the actress had to leave for shooting early in the morning and work till late night. Reach home at 11 o’clock and wake up the next day at 6 o’clock for the next shift.
Reason given for leaving TV industry
Rohini then realized that she was not able to find time for herself to exercise, rest and even breathe. Therefore, he slowed down his pace. This reason became the reason for his leaving the TV industry. The actress also expressed her irritation over the lack of discipline in the Marathi TV industry. The actress often received calls at the last moment. If they had added a scene, they would have been forced to come. She would get angry with this attitude. Ultimately, he decided not to work like this.
Memorable story narrated by ‘Shahenshah’
Rohini also remembered her theater days in Delhi. She spoke Hindi most of the time, due to which her command over the language became good. However, Marathi touch is still visible in his language, due to which people say to him jokingly, ‘You also know Punjabiyat in Hindi.’ He also talked about the memorable moments of the film ‘Shahenshah’, in which Amitabh Bachchan was also involved. She recalls, ‘In Shahenshah, Amitabh performed a similar style on the song ‘Mere Angne Mein’. I was not fond of that song, so I expressed my views and said, ‘Why would a person like Amitabh Bachchan perform like this?’

Clarifying the statement, Rohini said, ‘I wanted to say that he is such a talented actor and I was surprised by his choice. When I was saying that it was nothing after reclaiming it… suddenly I stopped saying it. I regret what I said. After this, he left the shoot. I don’t remember if he remembers our interaction or not, but I had crossed my limits. I was expecting an answer from him, but he remained calm. This is his wonderful quality.
