New Delhi [India] September 23 (ANI): According to a recent report on the solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in India, the total solar PV capacity in India is 3,343.37 GWP, highlighting the country’s vast renewable energy possibilities.
The inauguration of the training program organized by the Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, inauguration of the training program on Solar PV Evaluation (Ground Mounted) and Solar Sale and Module Manufacturing, issued a training program organized by the Ministry of National Institute of Solar Energy and New and Renewable Energy.
Speaking at the event, the Union Minister highlighted that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has taken advantage of high-resolution geophagical data from satellites.
ISRO has taken advantage of high-resolution geo-strategic data from satellites to conduct a comprehensive analysis of land usage aimed at identifying barren land suitable for solar energy development. The study takes into account important factors such as land slopes and aspects to maximize solar risk. It also integrates the data on the proximity to roads, power infrastructure, substations and evacuation routes using a systematic and accurate approach, Joshi said.
According to the minister, it is the most detailed and well -studied evaluation to date. This is the first nationwide exercise to install India’s total viable ground-mounted solar PV capacity at 3,343 GW-which has been recorded so far. He said that the findings are an important milestone in the country’s renewable energy planning efforts.
The minister said that the report will be useful for the plan and the government for the state agencies.
“It will guide the plan for green energy corridors, corridor planning that will be good. And for the state agency, it will enable the design of targeted policies. And for the investor, it offers a map of opportunities for the confidence of investment and construction,” Joshi said. (AI)
