Banks will not be closed across India on Wednesday, August 13. However, there will be a regional bank holiday in the north-eastern state of Manipur. This closed is for the annual observation of patriotic day.
The day is a state-wide public holiday in Manipur, which was held in honor of the soldiers who died during the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891. On this day, Manipuri Patriots, including Rajkumar Bir Tikendrajeet and General Thungal, were publicly executed by the British for their role in war.
