In New York, a man set a dog on fire at South Ozone Park in Queens. CCTV shows him pulling a sedentary dog, then sets fire to a crossroads before walking away from peace.
Police said that according to the dog New York Daily News, CCTV footage looked healthy and unwell, even though he was not moving forward. It had a normal weight and was not weak or hungry.
NYPD last seen in a tan polo logo and light brown MCM backpack in a maroon sweatshirt. Eventually, the police arrested Isaiah Gurli from 29.
The suspect face animal cruelty, arson and careless threat. Since they do not require bail, they have been released from jail.
CCTV footage showed him stealing oil from a shop, then pulled an unconscious dog and set the road on fire. Later, the police found the burnt body of the dog.
CBS News quoted Queens District Attorney Melinda Katj, “Animals are not bags. They are not toys. They have every right to proper care, as humans do.”
“We will use all the equipment available to capture the defendant responsible for our perceived tasks,” Katz said.
According to Gurli, it was someone else’s dog whom he was taking care of. He admitted to kill the dog before burning it. If found guilty, he can withstand a prison of up to two years. He will have to return to court on 17 September.
