The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is electing the presidents of its state units, a process that will give rise to the election of the new national president of Saffron Party, in place of JP Nadda.

According to the report, Daggubati Purandeshwari, former Andhra Pradesh state president of Andhra Pradesh, is also considering for the top post. Purandeshwari is the sister-in-law of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and is known for her multilingual efficiency and cross-party political experience.
Naidu’s wife, Nara is Bhuvaneshwari, and Purandeshwari sisters.
Purandeshwari has served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2009 and an MoS in 2012 in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Purandeshwari won the Lok Sabha elections with more than 2.3 lakh votes in 2024 from Rajmundry in Andhra Pradesh.
After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Purandeswari’s name was also making rounds for the post of speaker.
Vanathi Srinivasan
Srinivasan is a Tamil Nadu lawyer-royalty. He is an MLA from Coimbatore South seat and has been with BJP since 1993. Srinavasan is also the Secretary of State, General Secretary and Vice President of Tamil Nadu unit of the party.
Sitarman’s name has gained considerable traction within the party, many of which have cited their cabinet experience and organizational depth.
In 2020, she was appointed as the national president of the BJP Women’s Morch, and in 2022, she made history as the first Tamil woman to join the Central Election Committee of the BJP.
