ROME (AP) – Pop Leo XIV warned on Friday that artificial intelligence could negatively affect the intellectual, neurological and spiritual development of young people as he had suppressed one of the priorities of his young Pontify.

The Leo, elected in May after the death of Pope Francis, recognized AI as one of the most important cases facing humanity, stating that it faces challenges to defend human dignity, justice and labor. He has explained his concern for AI by calling his name Pope Leo XIII.
