Since Covid-19 cases are re-increasing in India, Dr. Dr. Dr. The Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Rajiv Bahl said on Monday that the institution is monitoring the situation through the Integrated Disease Monitoring Program, which tracks nationwide cases.
ICMR is focusing on three main factors: Covid-19 virus is infected, whether it is developing existing immunity, and is it a serious disease that is happening in people even without comrades, the Director General said.
Bahl told PTI video, “The cases are increasing, first in southern India, then in western India, and now in northern India. We are monitoring the situation through the Integrated Disease Monitoring Program (IDSP), which tracks nationwide matters.”
He also said that the council is watching three major factors. First of all, how much the virus is broadcast and how quickly cases are increasing. Second, whether it is developing existing immunity, whether natural or vaccinated. If a new version emerges, it can affect previous immunity, but at the moment, there is nothing to be worried about it. Third, we examine the percentage of serious cases, are we watching serious illness without any people? ,
Advising that there is no need for nervousness, Bahl further said: “So far, the seriousness remains less. There is no reason for nervousness. We should be alert and always be ready.”
On the new Kovid -19 variants, Dr. Bahl also said: “The variants we have sequential from South and West India are not very serious. 4 variants have been discovered – LF.7 series, XFG series, JN.1 series and nb.1.8.1 in the same order.
New covid variant
According to INSACOG data, NB.1.8.1 and LF.7 Kovid’s variants have been found in India.
By May 2025, the World Health Organization (WHO) LF.7 and NB.1.8 classifies subyers as variants under monitoring, not as anxiety or as a variant of interest. But these are variants that are allegedly increasing Kovid cases in China and parts of Asia.
The health department of the Delhi government on Monday reported 104 active Kovid -19 cases in the city.
Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh said on Monday that due to the new version, Kovid has so far shown symptoms of viral fever, and urged people not to panic.
He said that the government has given a health advice to the hospitals, stating that they should be prepared for any event, but it was just a precautionary step and did not indicate alarm, he said.
Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said on Monday that there is no reason for concern, as most of the recent Kovid -19 cases mentioned in the state include only mild infections. However, he said that precautions still need to be taken.
Rao said, “There are 47 active Kovid -19 cases in the state, but no one is on ventilator or oxygen support. All are in the separation of the house, and no one is in serious condition,” Rao said.
The RT-PCR kit will be supplied to all district and medical colleges hospitals starting on Monday.
