‘Use food and workouts to upgrade your hardware’
According to him, rewarding weight loss with food can reduce progress and strengthen unhealthy habits as connecting food with prizes can have emotional food and unhealthy relations with food. Dan believes that by choosing a non-food award or healthy food, you can celebrate your progress by maintaining a healthy relationship with food and fitness.
He said, “The worst way to lose weight is trying to exercise it from your body. Stop trying to lose weight with your workouts. Use your diet for this … Everyone thinks that self-love is eating junk food, watching movies and bathing. Self-love is actually about to have a good workout, to eat hard work, and go to a proper time.”
He also said, “Your body is a machine: use food, workouts and mobility to upgrade your hardware. Use books, writing and attention to upgrade your software.”
‘Stop punishing yourself with workouts’
In his caption, Dan wrote, “One of my biggest mistakes when my workout was using my workouts as a way to punish myself. When I was ‘bad’, I feel ashamed, then tried to crush the gym and crush my body with deep circuit training and hit workouts.
He said, “Now I don’t punish myself or feel ashamed for my weak moments. I do not go to the gym and work to work. I go because I go because I am celebrating what my body can do. It’s time to stop punishing myself with workouts. It’s time to say that I am very different.
