The Chinese helicopter flew close to the Philippines government aircraft patrolling a disputed coast in the South China Sea. The Coast Guard said in a statement that this careless action posed a serious risk for the safety of pilots and passengers.
The Philippine Coast Guard said that the government fisheries aircraft was flying a ‘pirate awareness’ over the ‘Scarboro Shole’ on Tuesday. This area is a rocky atol and fishing area located inside the special economic zone of the Philippines. People’s Liberation Army Navy’s helicopter passed close to three meters of the aircraft. The Philippine Coast Guard claimed that it was a ‘clear violation and gross neglect’ of the aviation rules.
