India’s Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has sent a notice to Apple regarding the glitches in the phone after the iOS 18+ update and sought its response.

New Delhi. The Central Consumer Protection Authority has sent a notice to Apple Inc regarding complaints regarding the performance of iPhones after the iOS 18+ update. Actually, after the iOS 18+ update, there were many glitches in the performance of iPhones, due to which consumers made numerous complaints on the National Consumer Helpline and taking action on these complaints, the authority has sent this notice to Apple. Let us tell you that Apple released iOS 18 update in September and after this update many new features were added to the device. After this, tension increased among the users regarding its performance.
Consumer Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said on Thursday that the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued a notice to Apple Inc. following complaints from consumers regarding the performance of the software. Let us tell you that the authority has also sent a notice to Ola and Uber regarding the price difference.

Apple asked for answers
In view of the problems being faced by iPhone users, the Consumer Protection Authority has not only sent a notice to Apple but has also sought a reply from them in this regard. Prahlad Joshi said that after receiving complaints on the National Consumer Helpline regarding performance related problems in iPhone after iOS 18+ software update, the department investigated these complaints and after investigation, CCPA issued a notice to Apple. On the other hand, it is being said that the Government of India is preparing its own app store, where all the apps of the Government of India will be at one place. Its name will be GOV.in. To make it easily accessible to Indian users, the government is contacting Apple, Google and other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Actually, the government wants that government-backed apps should be installed on all devices before purchase. Just like you get many Apple apps preloaded in Apple phones and Google apps are also there in Android.
Apart from this, the government also wants the tech companies to allow users in India to download state-backed apps from their own app stores, i.e. Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store, as well as from third-party app stores. . For this they should not even give the warning of ‘unreliable source’.
