Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday condemned Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ramesh Bidhuri’s statement on ‘cheeks’, calling it “ridiculous” and “unnecessary”.
Speaking to the media, Priyanka stressed that such comments divert attention from the real issues and stressed that during the elections, the focus should be on addressing the serious concerns of the people of Delhi. .
The Congress MP said, “This is a ridiculous comment. She never talked about her cheeks. All this is unnecessary. During the elections we should talk about the important issues of the people of Delhi.”
This comes amid controversy over Bidhuri’s remarks where she had said that the BJP would make all the roads in Kalkaji like “Priyanka Gandhi’s cheeks” if voted to power.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh has shared the video of Bidhuri’s alleged remarks.
Bidhuri, BJP’s candidate from Kalkaji Assembly constituency against Chief Minister Atishi, on Sunday expressed regret over her controversial remarks about Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Speaking to ANI, Bidhuri clarified that his comments were made in the context of Lalu Yadav’s comments and emphasized that the Congress party was silent when similar statements were made during his tenure as minister. Was staying.
However, this is not the only statement that has created a political stir ahead of the elections.
In another program on January 5, Bidhuri, while addressing a public meeting, had commented on the surname and family of CM Atishi.
“Atishi, who was Marlena, is now Singh. She has also changed her fatherhood,” said Bidhuri.
Responding to the comments, Arvind Kejriwal said on social media platform X that BJP leaders have crossed “all limits of shamelessness” and are “abusing” Chief Minister Atishi.
He further said that the people of Delhi will not tolerate this and will give a befitting reply to the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections.
Elections in Delhi are to be held in a single phase on 5 February and counting of votes will take place on 8 February.
The incumbent AAP, which had won 67 and 62 seats out of 70 seats by huge margins the last two times, is facing a tough two-pronged challenge from the BJP and the Congress.
