Tension escalated after clashes between police and supporters of Jan Suraj chief Prashant Kishore near Gandhi Maidan area in Patna.
The controversy occurred after the teenager was detained on Monday during his indefinite hunger strike demanding action against the alleged BPSC exam paper leak.
Kishor’s arrest was widely condemned by his supporters, who accused the government of attempting to silence protests by fearing the unity Kishor had created among the public.
One of Jan Suraj Pramukh’s supporters said, “Prashant Kishor was fighting for the people of Bihar, for the students… The government is afraid of this unity.”
He added, “The physical violence against him is condemnable… We don’t know where he has been taken. We are asking, but no one is telling us where he is.”
Another supporter of Kishor underlined that Kishor was merely engaged in “satyagraha” and said that the government was afraid of him.
“He did not do any illegal work. He sat at one place and did Satyagraha. The government is scared of him. No one knows where the police took him. We are protesting against this, at least tell us where he was taken. Has gone.” ” He said.
Another supporter said, “When Prashant Kishor was being detained, his spectacles were thrown. When I went to pick him up, I got injured and they misbehaved with me. We don’t know where to take Prashant ji.” Has gone.”
The clash began when police attempted to remove Kishore from the hunger strike site at Gandhi Maidan, which had become the epicenter of his protest. Patna Police also evacuated the area where the teenagers were observing their ‘fast unto death’ and checked vehicles around Gandhi Maidan.
Kishore had been on hunger strike since January 2 in support of students demanding cancellation of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exams following allegations of question paper leak. After his custody, the police took him away in an ambulance.
Earlier, Jan Suraj chief said that the party will file a petition in the High Court on January 7 regarding BPSC irregularities.
“It is not a matter of decision for us whether we will continue it (protest) or not. We will continue to do what we are doing now; there will be no change in it… We (Jan Suraj Party) will file a case. ” Prashant Kishore said, petition in High Court on 7th.

On Sunday, Prashant Kishore sat with the protesting students at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. He also urged Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav to lead the protest as he is a “big” leader and also the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Bihar Assembly.
Kishor was reacting to the comments of former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. He said that being the leader of opposition, Yadav should have led the protest in his place.
“He (Tejashwi Yadav) is a big leader. He is also the leader of the opposition. He should have led the protest. I am asking him to lead the protest. We will step aside.” Lakhs of people were coming to Gandhi Maidan. Politics can happen at any time. We do not care about the agenda of the students.”
“This is not a protest. This is the passion of the people of Bihar: to improve their conditions, to secure a better future. In this cold weather, some people are singing, and you are here from all sides You can see people sitting there. I am tired of answering the allegations. Look around and if possible, we will also sleep here.”
The protest was called by BPSC students to cancel the Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 conducted by BPSC on December 13 due to alleged question paper leak.
