Sales of Ola electric scooter fell flat, sales decreased by 33% in November, Bajaj-Ather sales also declined.

Electric Scooter Sales: After record-breaking sales in the festive season, the month of November has proved to be somewhat disappointing in the electric vehicle market. There has been a big decline in the monthly sales of major EV manufacturer Ola Electric. According to vehicle portal data, 27,746 vehicles of Ola Electric were registered in November 2024, which is 33% less than in October. In October this figure was more than 40,000 units, which was a big milestone for the company so far.

The decline in registrations also affected the market share of Ola Electric. The company’s market share declined to 24% in November, which was 30% in October. However, despite this, Ola Electric continues to maintain its leading position in the two-wheeler EV market. Analysts believe that the reason for this decline in sales is increasing competition, complaints related to product quality and poor service.

TVS and Bajaj also suffered a blow, but market share increased
Apart from Ola Electric, sales of other major EV manufacturers were also affected. TVS Motor’s EV two-wheeler registrations declined by 13% during November to 26,036 units. However, TVS’s market share increased to 23%, which was 21.5% in October.

The situation of Bajaj Auto was also similar. The company registered 24,978 EV two-wheelers in November, down 12% on a monthly basis. However, market share increased from 20% to 22%.

Ather Energy’s situation is also weak
Ather Energy registered 12,217 units in November, which is 24% less than 16,148 units in October. Continuously falling sales have affected the market position of the company.

Total EV market also affected
The decline in sales of big companies also affected the overall EV market. Total registration of electric two-wheelers in November stood at 1.14 lakh units, which is 18% less as compared to October. However, this number was 23.5% higher on an annual basis, indicating that the performance of the EV market is positive in the long term.

This slowdown after the festive season shows that competition in the electric vehicle market is continuously increasing. Leading companies like Ola Electric need to improve in terms of product quality and customer service, so that they can maintain their market position.
