Police seized forged documents and a tablet from Singh after registering a case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) at Kotwali Bhimga police station.

A woman was arrested for using a forged admit card to appear in the physical standards test despite failing in the written test during the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment process, officials said on Sunday.
“A female candidate named Richa Singh was arrested on Saturday for attempting to appear in the physical standard test by using a fake admit card,” Shravasti Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Praveen Kumar Yadav told PTI.
The recruitment process for constable posts consisted of a written examination held in August. Yadav said those who qualified the exam were invited for the document verification and physical standards testing phase, which began on Friday.
Reserve Police Lines at Bhimga, Shravasti district headquarters, was one of the centers in this phase. “As per our list, we expected 533 candidates at this centre. No woman candidate was registered,” the ASP said.
So when Richa Singh submitted her admission form, the examiners were skeptical. Initial investigation found it to be fake.
“The admit card had the photograph and details of Singh, a resident of Payagpur in Bahraich district, but the roll number was of a male candidate named Mayank from Kanpur,” Yadav said.
The investigation revealed that Singh had used an editing mobile application – Sweet Snap – to edit and paste a different roll number on the fake admit card.

“The accused was arrested from Bhimga bus station and sent to jail on Saturday after being produced in the court,” the ASP said.
During interrogation, Singh admitted to failing the written examination at a center in Balrampur district in August.
She confessed that she wanted to hide her failure from her family and friends, and create the impression that she was participating in the physical testing phase.
