After completing her graduation in Public Administration and post graduation in Political Science, Usha Ranganani started her career as a Commercial Tax Officer. Inspired by a female IPS officer posted in Agra at that time, she decided to join the Indian Police Service.

After this dream came true in 2011, he was selected for Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre. During training at the National Police Academy, he was selected as the Top 5 Best Probationer. Apart from this, during training he won gold medal in swimming and silver medal in cross country. Usha Ranganani, who has served in Andaman and Nicobar Police, is currently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
