Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is all set to enter the Indian electric two-wheeler market with the upcoming Activa Electric. Honda Activa Electric will be launched on November 27 and will be the first of several electric vehicles planned by the two-wheeler manufacturer.
Although full details of the electric scooter have not been revealed yet, Honda has released some teasers to give us an idea of what to expect. The first teaser release of the Honda Activa E showcased the product’s LED headlamp setup. It is expected that the electric scooter will get futuristic styling.
Honda Activa Electric: battery and range
Honda had recently revealed that Activa E will get swappable battery technology. Honda Activa E will get two swappable batteries, although the capacity of these battery packs has not been revealed yet. Interestingly, earlier during the 2024 India Mobility Expo, Honda had showcased its Benly e electric scooter. The electric scooter was equipped with Honda’s Modern Mobile Power Pack interchangeable battery, a technology that can be seen with the upcoming Activa E.

Another teaser from Honda indicates that the Activa E will get a claimed range of 104 km on a single charge. The teaser shows that with 100 percent battery, the scooter will have a range of 104 kilometers in ‘standard’ mode. Apart from this, ‘Sport’ mode will also be available in Activa E.
Honda Activa Electric: Expected Features
Honda Activa E is expected to be available in two trim levels. The electric scooter will get two different types of digital instrument clusters, indicating that there will be two trim levels on offer. While the lower variants of the Honda Activa E will get a TFT display, the higher trim levels will get a multi-color screen.
The teaser shows that the larger display unit, which the higher trim levels will get, will display important information like battery charger, range left, speed, mode and many more. The larger screen also indicates that the electric scooter will get turn by turn navigation and music control functionality.

Additionally, the Honda Activa E will have swingarm-mounted motors, which are also found in the Bajaj Chetak and Vida V1. Given the swingarm-mounted motor, Honda may keep the price of its electric scooter attractive compared to rivals.
The company is eyeing the mass-market electric two-wheeler segment, which is led by Ola Electric, Bajaj and TVS. It is expected that Honda Activa E will be launched keeping the family buyer in mind.
