Abhinandan Yadav’s determination never wavered, which ultimately brought him success in UPSC.
Abhinandan Yadav was born in Khojapur village of Ghazipur district.
Born in Khojapur village of Ghazipur district, Abhinandan Yadav started his education from New Model Children School, Khojapur. After completing his studies till class 10th, he moved to Kota to complete class 12th. In 2018, he took admission in IIT Guwahati and graduated in 2022. During these years, he also continuously prepared for government examinations and qualified the SSB written examination. 16 times from 2017 to 2024. Despite his consistent successes in the written portion, he faced rejection in the interview process due to medical issues and limited communication skills. However, Abhinandan’s determination never wavered, which ultimately led to his success in the UPSC Assistant Commandant exam.
Life after graduation:
After graduating in 2022, Abhinandan secured a position at Cubestion Consulting Pvt Ltd in Gurugram. Coming from a rural educational background, he struggled with English, which repeatedly hindered him in his SSB (Services Selection Board) interviews. Working in a private sector role helped him gradually improve his communication skills. Balancing 12-hour workdays with night study sessions, he not only became self-reliant but also learned to cook for himself – such experiences greatly boosted his self-confidence.
In an interview, Abhinandan shared that he appeared for the SSB (Service Selection Board) interview at least 16 times, yet every time, despite qualifying the written exam, he was rejected for the interview mainly because of his English speaking skills. Faced a phase out. His placement in a private company in Gurgaon played an important role in improving his English proficiency, which led to his success.
Working at Cubestion Consulting proved to be a confidence booster for Abhinandan, who qualified the UPSC Assistant Commandant exam in 2024. Before this achievement, he had also worked as an auditor through SSC CGL. Abhinandan’s journey is a testament to tireless perseverance, showing that even the most challenging goals can be achieved with hard work and dedication.
