Demon Slayer has frequently held high ranking positions as one of the most watched non-English TV series on Netflix records. The latest season of the much-loved anime – Hashira Training Arc soared to the top of the streaming giant’s global rankings again last week following its US premiere.
The global streamer simulcasted Kimetsu no Yaiba season 4 in select regions from May to June 2024, and completed its 8-episode broadcast months in advance. Throughout its course, the series based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s best-selling manga consistently remained at the top of trends both locally and internationally. However, due to the queue of new anime premiering after its conclusion, the show eventually gradually fell out of Netflix’s Global Top 10 (non-English) TV rankings.

How did Demon Slayer – Hashira Training Arc get back into the Netflix race despite ending earlier this year?
Demon Slayer season 4 was scheduled to premiere on Netflix in the US on October 31. It later regained its place as the fifth most watched non-English TV series in the world for the week of October 28 – November 3, 2024. Great comeback. The show remained in the top 10 for nine consecutive weeks, surpassing 10.3 million viewing hours and 2.6 million views per week.
Other Anime Ranking on Netflix’s Global Top 10
The story led by Tanjiro Kamado was not the only anime title to make the top 10 ranking. The recent Netflix premieres of Dan Da Dan and Dragon Ball DAIMA, which consist of weekly episodes, also performed strongly among global audiences. The former supernatural thriller extended its four-week spell on the roster as it clocked in at 6.1 million hours, or 3 million views in a week at #2.
At #10, the latest iteration of Dragon Ball returns for its second week on the Netflix chart. Completing the weekly ranking, it received 1.8 million views with 2.4 million watch hours.

While these two brand-new series continue their journey, Demon Slayer is on track to end the anime franchise with its final trilogy of films instead of returning for a fifth season. The cinematic adventure, distributed worldwide by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, will debut sometime in 2025.
