Many youth are troubled by knee pain. Additionally, arthritis, which is often associated with the older generation, significantly affects younger individuals, including people between the ages of 20 and 40 and children. Alia Bhatt’s yoga instructor has released a video which includes five simple and effective exercises that anyone can do to get relief from their knee discomfort.
Strong knees for a better life
Anshuka Parwani, who trains stars like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Rakul Preet Singh, Ananya Panday and others, shared the clip on Instagram with five knee pain-relieving activities. He captioned the post, “Struggling with knee pain?? These are 5 simple and effective activities I have started to relieve discomfort and strengthen my knees! And you should too. Please seek help if you need it and check with a doctor before trying these. Try these daily to improve mobility and reduce pain.
walk backwards
The first exercise that Anshuka mentioned in the video was walking backwards. He advised his followers to do this for five minutes. As the name suggests, in this movement the person has to move in the opposite direction. Walking backwards improves balance and coordination, activates different muscles and burns more calories.
Calf Raises (2 sets, 15 reps)
The second exercise is calf raises, which have to be done for five minutes. In this routine, hold a pole or wall for support and then lift yourself up onto your toes. Calf raises improve ankle mobility, prevent injuries, and strengthen and improve the flexibility of the calf muscles.
Reverse Step Up (2 sets, 15 reps on each leg)
To perform this exercise, find a stable elevated surface. Now, place the working leg on the step and bend your knee so that the heel of the extended leg touches the floor and helps with balance. It improves the range of motion of the ankle, knee and hip joints.
Hamstring Stretch (2 sets, 15 reps on each leg)
Find an elevated surface to perform hamstring stretches. Bend your knees and place your feet on the ground and palms flat on the stairs. Now, repeat the process for each knee while keeping the other knee straight. This exercise reduces injuries, increases flexibility and improves posture.
Tibialis Stretch (3 sets, 15 reps on each leg)
Do this stretch while standing straight and find a stable surface to lean your body back on for support. Then, bring your upper body forward and lift your toes up while keeping your heels on the ground and knees straight. Increase the difficulty level by taking one step further. This routine strengthens the calves, improves balance and coordination, and stretches the calf muscles.
