According to officials, schools which have not yet had uniforms of the previous design stitched or distributed can use the new uniforms.
A year after changing the school uniform for Class 9 and 10 students in government schools in the state, the BJP government in Odisha proposed a similar color change. The Department of School and Mass Education announced in a letter to the Director of Secondary Education that students of classes 9 and 10 will now have to wear the new uniform. According to officials, schools which have not yet had uniforms of the previous design stitched or distributed can use the new uniforms.
Apart from this, new uniforms have been selected for government and government aided secondary school students under the Chief Minister Student Apparel Scheme. Besides, schools which did not receive the old uniforms – which were not stitched or supplied – will get new uniforms after instructions are given by the concerned department.
Under the “Chief Minister Student Uniform Scheme”, new uniforms have been selected for the students of government and government aided secondary schools. Necessary instructions have been issued. New uniforms will be distributed in schools where old uniforms are not stitched/distributed, “Information and Public Relations Department, Govt. While girls will be wearing red rust churidar and full sleeve clay-bake yellow shirt over checkered clay-bake yellow shirt, boys will be wearing red rust pants and checkered clay-bake yellow shirt. According to officials, the pockets on the uniforms of boys and girls will be chocolate rush colored. It will also include clothes, shoes and two sets of socks. Uniforms are being supplied through the “Chief Minister Student Chhatri Apparel” programme.
