itel has recently introduced its new smartphone A50. The company has launched this phone in the budget segment. We have been using this phone for some time and are telling you its review here. From this you will be able to know whether you should buy this phone or not.
Design and display
First of all let’s talk about its design. This phone has been introduced in the budget segment but its design is quite good. It has a camera island similar to the iPhone. Two cameras are provided in the rear of the phone. However, due to its thin plastic frame, the screen appears to be slightly protruding. But it will look slim to you and its weight is also well balanced.
itel A50 has a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display panel. Its refresh rate is standard. The company has given a peak brightness of up to 480 nits in it. You will get to see a waterdrop-style notch in the phone. The display comes with vivid colors and sharp details. However, you will find it difficult to see in bright sunlight.
camera
In this phone you get dual rear camera setup. The company has given an 8MP primary camera with AI at the back while the camera for selfie is 5MP. However, the good thing is that you can make selfies or video calls even at night by using screen flash.
Talking about photo quality, the picture is average which is fine for this price range. But, if you want, you can easily edit the photo and post it on social media. Camera quality is not good at night. You will see lack of details and noise in photos taken at night.
performance
Talking about the performance of this phone, the company has used Unisoc T603 processor in it. This chipset comes with Mali G57 MP1 GPU. It handles daily apps easily. However, you will notice lag if you open too many apps. You can also play low-end games easily with this chipset.

You will get to see Android 14 (Go Edition) in the phone. Many apps come pre-installed with the phone. However, you can uninstall most of the apps which is a good thing. Its UI is quite clean.
Battery
Talking about battery, itel A50 has a 5000mAh battery. You can easily use the phone for a day with normal use. 10W charging support is provided with the phone. However, it takes about 3 hours to fully charge it. The company could have improved it.
What should I buy?
The price of itel A50 starts from around Rs 6 thousand. This is an entry level smartphone. If you are thinking of switching from a feature phone or your budget is low then you can go with this. You will have to compromise on some factors like speed of charging the phone, camera etc.
