Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is likely to reshuffle his Cabinet on Monday, with five new inductees including Hardeep Singh Mundian, Tarunpreet S Sondh, Barinder Goel and Mohinder Bhagat likely to be inducted, news agency ANI reported quoting Punjab government sources.
The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan at 5 pm, reports said.
It is worth noting that four ministers: Balkaur Singh, Chetan Singh Jaurmajra, Brahm Shankar Jimpa and Anmol Gagan Maan have already submitted their resignations.
Earlier this month, in a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Bhagwant Mann government had transferred 38 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and one Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officer with immediate effect.
Earlier, speaking at an appointment letter distribution ceremony in Chandigarh, Chief Minister Mann assured the youth of job security and criticised the previous government for not being considerate towards the youth of the state.
Mann had then said, “The system was broken for 75 years, but we will fix it gradually even if it takes time to fix it. You people have come from simple backgrounds, so I appeal to you not to take bribes from people in your new posts.”
According to the government, a total of 293 appointment letters were given during the ceremony. Of these, 263 were under the health department, 9 under technical education and 21 under water supply department.
In the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) registered a landslide victory by winning 92 seats, brushing aside most of its rivals.
