New Delhi. How good would it be if we could find a tyre that never gets punctured. No more hassle of getting stranded due to a punctured tyre. No more hassle of spending money to get them repaired. You will be happy to know that there is a company that is working on this technology and very soon we can see such tyres. French company Michelin is getting very close to making punctureless tyres available worldwide.
The company has stated on its website that its prototype has been made. The company has named it Michelin Uptis. UPTIS means Unique Puncture Proof Tire System. The company has written that the Michelin Uptis prototype is a puncture proof wheel which does not have compressed air. This eliminates the problem of tire pressure and puncture. This also eliminates the possibility of the vehicle losing balance in case of a puncture. This will also increase the safety of the driver.
Being used in these countries
The company has said that these tyres are being used in delivery fleets in Singapore, US and France. Currently, Michelin is the only company that has actually launched punctureless tyres on the roads. Since 2020, Michelin’s Uptis tyres have travelled more than 30 lakh kilometres.
what will be the benefit
By using these tyres in vehicles, vehicles and drivers will be safer than before. They will not have to struggle to save the vehicle from an accident in case of a tyre puncture. Apart from this, productivity will increase more than before because time will be saved on long journeys due to no tyre puncture. Consumption of raw material will be reduced due to which less waste material will be generated.
