When we plan to travel anywhere, the first thing that is done is booking travel tickets and hotels. Staying in a hotel is a different kind of fun, but technology is developing so fast that there is always a fear of safety and security even when going to an unknown place. Meanwhile, a case related to privacy has come to light from a famous coffee outlet in Bangalore. Here a woman found a mobile phone kept inside the dustbin in a toilet of the cafe which was recording a video for about two hours.
When such things come to light, fear arises, and hence it is important that whenever we stay in a hotel or go to the washroom of a restaurant, we must keep our privacy in mind and check for hidden cameras.
First of all, try to locate any camera visually. Immediately after entering any hotel room, check yourself in the bathroom, bedroom, behind the mirror, near the smoke detector or lamp. Usually cameras are hidden in such places.

Tap or gently touch objects that could potentially hide a camera, such as wall hangings, folded towels, decorations, and electronic devices. Listen for any hollow sounds that could indicate a hidden compartment.
Using a flashlight: Light a flashlight around the room, especially in dark corners or places where cameras may be hidden. Camera lenses may shine differently in such conditions. This will make it easier for you to find out if a camera is installed.
Apart from this, turn off the lights of the room and use the smartphone flashlight to look for any reflection that may hint at the presence of a camera lens.

Phone apps: There are many smartphone apps available that can detect the infrared light of hidden cameras. You can use any of the apps to scan the room and identify any unusual sources of light.
Wire or cable: Be sure to check the room for any suspicious wires or cables. See if there is any wire that you do not see connected to anything, and that is to supply power to the camera installed in the room.
WiFi Network Scanner: Avoid connecting to public WiFi networks at the hotel. Instead, use a WiFi network scanner to identify all active networks and make sure none of them are suspicious.
