Madhulata’s journey to IIT has not been without financial challenges.
Despite the odds, Badavath Madhulata’s determination and hard work has landed her a good position at IIT Patna.
In a remarkable tale of determination and perseverance, Badavath Madhulatha, hailing from Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district, has achieved a major milestone by securing the 824th rank in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category in this year’s JEE examinations. Despite financial constraints and her father’s illness, Madhulatha’s dream of studying at IIT Patna has now come true. Madhulatha, the daughter of an agricultural labourer, overcame all odds to succeed in both the JEE Mains and Advanced exams. Her inspiring journey to academic success included studying amid a rustic backdrop of grazing goats.
Madhulata’s journey to IIT has not been without financial challenges. While she secured her admission by paying a nominal fee of Rs 17,500, her family is facing difficulties in raising Rs 2.5 lakh for tuition and other expenses to pursue BTech in Engineering Physics.
Despite these obstacles, Madhulata’s determination and hard work have earned her a good place in IIT Patna. Her story is a ray of hope and inspiration for many, proving that with perseverance and courage, one can overcome any difficulties to achieve their dreams.
Madhulata, who used to graze goats in the village to help her family, came into the limelight when teachers of the Tribal Welfare Junior College, where she completed her Class 12, appealed for help as the last date for fee payment, July 27, approached.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy congratulated her and took steps to provide her the necessary financial support. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), he announced that the Tribal Welfare Department has disbursed the required funds for her education. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Madhulata will continue to excel academically and bring laurels to Telangana.
Under the directions of the Tribal Welfare Commissioner, Madhulata had sought financial assistance totalling Rs 2,51,831. The state government responded by waiving off Rs 1 lakh in tuition fees and allocating Rs 1,51,831 for academic fees, hostel expenses, gymkhana fees, transport, mess fees, laptop and other related costs.
