The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UPMSP) has cautioned students and their parents who have applied for scrutiny of Class 10th, 12th Result 2024 declared in April against receiving phone calls from cyber fraudsters claiming to increase their marks and get them passed in exchange for money in the scrutiny process.
UPMSP has advised parents and class 10th and 12th students who have applied for scrutiny to inform the District School Inspector if they receive such phone calls.
Sharing the office order on microblogging platform X (earlier known as Twitter), Divyakant Shukla, Secretary, Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) Prayagraj said, “The general public is informed that some candidates who appeared in the High School and Intermediate Examination of the year 2024 of the Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh had applied online for checking of their answer sheets. Cyber fraudsters are making malicious attempts to defraud some examinees and their parents by luring them to increase their marks and pass them without failing and demanding money.”
The UPMSP notice further states that an FIR will be filed against the “cheaters” once the students report the matter to the administration.
The notice said, “All the candidates and their parents are requested not to pay heed to such phone calls from cyber fraudsters and never fall prey to temptation. If you receive such phone calls, immediately inform the District School Inspector of your district so that an FIR can be lodged against such cyber fraudsters.”
It is worth noting that 55,25,308 students had registered for the board exams this year, out of which 29,47,311 were registered for high school and 25,77,997 for intermediate board exams. UPMSP had conducted class 10 and class 12 exams between February 22 and March 9 and the results of both the classes were declared on April 20. The overall pass percentage of class 10 was 89.55%, and for class 12, it was 82.60% this year.
