The “final scenes” of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi have surfaced on social media, a day after the Iranian hardliner died in a helicopter crash. Earlier on Monday, Iranian state media confirmed the death of Raisi, 63, his Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and seven others in the helicopter crash.
A video of Raisi traveling in a helicopter surfaced on social media on Monday, with many netizens claiming that it is the last scene of the leader before the helicopter crash. The accident, in which Raisi reportedly died, took place in the mountainous region of the country’s East Azerbaijan province on Sunday.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was declared dead on Monday after rescue workers found his crashed helicopter. “Servant of the Iranian nation, Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisi, has achieved the highest level of martyrdom…,” state TV said, according to AFP.

“The death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash is a major blow to the Islamic republic’s cleric leadership,” an exiled opposition group said on Monday, predicting further troubles.
However, the Iranian government said it would operate ‘without any disruption’ following President Raisi’s death, AFP reported.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed Vice President Mohammad Mokhbar as interim president. Meanwhile, the Iranian cabinet appointed Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani as acting foreign minister following the death of Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
Hamas and Hezbollah expressed condolences over Raisi’s death on Monday. Hamas praised the Iranian leader’s “support for the Palestinian resistance” and Hezbollah called Raisi a “defender of resistance movements.”
