Despite excelling as a block topper in Hindi medium Kalchini in secondary, Manu faces significant hurdles as there is no Hindi medium school in the district that offers science education.
His father works as a daily wage laborer and runs a small shop to support the family. He prepared for the exam in the dim light of a single bulb in his room. However, the lack of options for science education in Hindi medium schools has left them in a dilemma. Although he has a strong desire to pursue science, his family’s financial constraints make it impossible for him to attend an English medium school.
Manu said, “I have come from a Hindi medium background since childhood. I can’t change the medium now. Even though I can study in English, the expense is beyond our family’s capacity.” Despite the challenges, he remains hopeful that someone will come forward to help him fulfill his dream of becoming a scientist.
