OP Jindal Global University has been ranked as the top law school in India and 72nd globally as per the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 for Law and Legal Studies.
According to the QS World University Rankings, OP Jindal Global University remained the number one law university in India for the 5th consecutive year, moving up to 72nd position from 84th rank achieved last year.
Rankings by QS are given based on certain criteria including academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations and H-index (an index that measures the consistency of impact and quality of work published by the institution’s scholars), among other factors.

JGLS also outperformed global institutions such as the University of Nottingham, University of Texas at Austin, Waseda University, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Boston University, a press release said.

He said that the emergence of JGLS as India’s No. 1 law school in more than a decade of its existence reflects the thirst for quality education among the youth of the country.
Professor (Dr) C. Raj Kumar, Founder Vice-Chancellor of OP Jindal University, highlighted that JGLS is the only law school in India to be ranked among the top-100 in the world.
“JGLS was established 15 years ago in 2009 with 10 faculty members and 100 students, today it has more than 5,500 students and more than 550 full-time faculty members. It has achieved so much distinction in a very short time because of its pedagogy, teaching standards, research outcomes and international partnerships, which have made it the premier law school in the country today,” said Dr Kumar.
Meanwhile, apart from JGLS, two other law schools from India made it to the list this year. These include National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, which has been ranked 151-200, and Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, which has been ranked 201-250.
