(Bloomberg) — Former President Donald Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson are scheduled to hold an event on election integrity at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on Friday, according to people familiar with the matter.
Both men will speak as Johnson struggles to maintain his speech and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Trump grows his influence over the party.
The meeting provides an opportunity for Johnson to be photographed with Trump at a time when hard-liners are threatening to impersonate the speaker over issues such as Ukraine.

Radical Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a close Trump ally, took the first procedural step toward ousting Johnson last month after striking a deal with Democrats to avoid a US government shutdown.
Greene and Johnson met for about an hour at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, but the threat of a coup still looms over her speech if Johnson moves forward with Ukraine funding. Greene has also warned him to abandon efforts to expand legal authority for the US foreign intelligence surveillance program, which Trump also opposes.
A controversial part of the program sometimes allows the government to seize without a warrant the private messages of Americans who may be in contact with foreign surveillance targets.
“The Speaker has not done the job we elected him to do and I told him that,” Greene said after their meeting.
