Total Solar Eclipse 2024: Viewers are all set to witness the first solar eclipse of this year, commonly known as Surya Grahan. This astronomical event will start at 9:12 PM (IST) on April 8 and end at 2:22 AM on April 9.
“A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. “The sky will become dark as if it is morning or evening,” NASA’s official website said.
This year it will be a rare total solar eclipse where the Moon will completely cover the Sun and the scene will look like a ring of fire. When this astronomical miracle occurs the sky will become dark for a short period of a few minutes during the day.
