When asked about the roles where he was often seen with liquor and meat in hand, the Reshma Aur Shera actor joked, “What bone, what skeleton? It used to be a full goat leg, And all that kind of stuff, but that also became a big problem later on.”
The 82-year-old veteran actor also shared the challenges he faced while shooting the scenes, which included real meat. He recalled instances when the strong smell of mutton remained on his body even after bathing and using cologne.
“I’m tired of it. Even after bathing at night and spraying cologne, my body smells like mutton. Now, even with the goat in front of the den and Bindu ji and Helen ji dancing, I have to put up with the smell. Despite It had the air conditioning running, the air was still stinky because the mutton had been burning all day.” Ranjeet shared.
“One day, I went to the art director with my dilemma. I said, ‘I have a serious problem. You’ve created such a realistic set… couldn’t you copy a chicken or a goat instead?’ The art director complied and created it with plaster of Paris. I instructed my producer not to include the real goat because of the high cost, and advised him not to order it from tomorrow.”
Ranjeet was last seen in supporting roles in Housefull 4 and Welcome Back (2015).
